Did I choose Vedic Astrology?
Flashback to (which year). It was an exciting time in my life. I was heading for a job interview. My growing up years in Somnath, Gujarat, in a religious family, did nothing to push my interests toward the tradition of rituals. Instead, it was the power of Why that seduced my mind. Why do things happen? It was a giddy delight to chase that inquiry, and I grew up falling in love with Logic.
Soon, young adulthood came around. Confident and determined, I pursued my passion for Logic, application, and results and studied engineering. Soon, a job interview beckoned, so I landed in Mumbai, and somewhere, while jumping through the hoops of airport formalities, came a moment that was to be life-changing. I met a gentleman with a serene visage and a penetrating gaze who approached me and, without much ado, predicted two things: the woman I loved would leave me, and I would soon be an astrologer teaching the world its noble principles.
I was aghast at the possibility of both. Despite growing up in a religious family, I had never been drawn to any aspect of it, much less astrology. Technology was my muse, and it kept my mind abuzz round-the-clock as I chased the Why of things. So, what were these predictions all about? Why would my girlfriend leave me? I left the airport in a mild tizzy.
As it turned out, soon after, the girl left me for someone else. The first prediction had come true, and I was blown away by its accuracy. Amidst the sounds of an imploding world, a voice said: ‘Can astrology hold such a clear mirror to the future?’ How can someone simply walk up to you and reveal your future correctly without knowing you? The Why of it consumed me.
It was, as they say, the turning point. My inner compass underwent a reset, and I put a hold on my career and headed to the Himalayas to learn Vedic Astrology from one of India’s most renowned teachers, Pt. Sanjay Rath.
I was indeed the Chosen One! Despite being from a family steeped in religious rigor, I had never given much thought to astrology, the ancient scriptures, and Vedic heritage. So, when people ask me why I chose Vedic Astrology as a full-time career and not the corporate world I left behind, I love to quip, “Vedic Astrology chose me.” And I cannot deny deep gratitude for this luck.
So, what pulled me to Vedic Astrology? It can connect the dots and draw a picture hidden in plain view. Your birth chart is a matrix of dots, and astrology connects them using Logic, knowledge, relevance, or context. Vedic Astrology provides the magic sauce, which tastes like what had me entranced about technology - precision, applicability, and context. This triumphal triad was as integral to Vedic Astrology as any science founded on reason.
Think about it: if you can figure out the Why of your life, couldn’t you live it to your fullest potential? Vedic Astrology explains the Why of your roadmap; the route is already encoded in your horoscope; all astrology does is provide you with clear, easy directions to follow it.
